From before my time (*cough*) a 1979 training film for novice moped riders. Some of the comments about traffic safety and the attitudes of car drivers will sound familiar to ebikers...

Brilliant! Amazing how little we've learned as a society since then!

That was a great training tool, still relevant today. And my ebike behaves exactly like Mike's moped, but watt I do need is a horn and some proper lights and turn signals.

Just wish to add this link to an old thread here:
http://www.ebikerider...

Basically MTV did a show they called "Vicious Cycle" about Toronto cyclists and car drivers and traffic including an audience weighted with bike couriers and taxi drivers etc...

And MTV posted the show as a three-part video, here:
http://www.mtv.ca/new...

Lots of wisdom there about cycling in traffic that can apply to ebikers also...

I was reminded of the old thread because I just got an email invite from MTV asking if I would like to attend another taping with audience. This time the subject is the recent rioting in England and rioting in general. From the email:
Well hello,

My name is Derek and I am the Talent Coordinator for MTV News Impact.

If you’re getting this email it means you were a part of our successful “Vicious Cycle” special. Due to its success we’re bringing back a similar (but more interactive) format with a new topic.

Recent unrest all over the world has led to many destructive riots. We’re inviting you to join our studio debate to try and find out what the hell is going on.

Consider this your formal invitation to:

MTV News Impact: Riot!

Thursday September 8th

8:00pm

The Masonic Temple - 888 Yonge Street

To book your free tickets, email: impact@mtv.ca

If you have any questions, you can just reply to this email.

Thanks again.

To tell the truth, I wasn't really all that interested in the subject of the show that I went too... I read enough online already about this stuff... I really went to observe the production process! Watched the crew in action and how the presenters operated and all the stuff going on behind the cameras plus I had never been inside the Masonic Temple building that MTV owns now and I am just a fan of architecture!

Anyway, if anybuddy here has a free night on Sept.8 and thinks they might find going to this EVent amusing, just thought I would mention it here. Anybuddy can write for the free tickets.
