I was heading eastbound on the Danforth after work going to John's Hobby Shop to get some hobby parts. I stopped at a red light and a cyclist pulled up behind me. When the light turned green I started going on my E-Bike, he started swearing and saying pick up the speed. I yelled to him that my 500watt motor can only work so hard and he called me a fucking idiot the started passing me on my left. As he passed me he started calling me an E-Bike retard and other stuff. I yelled to him to fuck off and go win a Darwin Award and do us all a favour. Then I stopped at the next red light. He pulled up beside me and jumped off of his bike and knocked me off of my E-Bike by punching the front of my helmet. It did not hurt me, but my E-Bike fell over and shattered it's windshield, bent the right pedal crank, broke the right mirror and scratched the paint in multiple places. I got up and got mad and picked up his bike and threw it onto the sidewalk several feet away. He then hit my helmet again and got on his bike and took off while I was busy picking up my E-Bike and it's broken pieces. I did not bother calling the police because they would take 20 minutes to arrive then they would say they could not help because I do not have a photo of the cyclist.

V.sorry to hear this Ken. Could you describe any details about this person and their bicycle? Time and location may be part of a standard commute routine and this person will be easy to spot at the same time and location Monday to Friday...

You were the victim of an assault. I do not know if I would call it unprovoked, but nobody has the right to hit you no matter what is said. I would have reported it to the police, but it was your call. Consider carrying a camera or helmet cam for documentation.

Well I am going to stay late afterwork and repair my Eagle. But next time I see him, I do wear steel toed shoes for work. I will make his testicles into mincemeat and then I will break every spoke in his front/rear rims and break his front/rear brake cables while he is down. I will keep a look out for this phsycotic cyclist. He wants to live like Mad Max then he better be prepared to be beaten down like Mad Max did to the outlaws.

It was about 6:30pm Eastbound on Danforth Avenue. His bike was grey in colour with blue handlebar tape. The man was about 6' high with gray hair and had a wild eye druggie look on his face. His riding style is very defrensive and he is a red light runner and likes to cut in and out of vehicular traffic.
Myself I did not assault him (I should have kicked him in the balls) but I did pick his bike up and threw it several feet onto the sidewalk, unfortunately no damage occured to it. But like I said, next time I see him I will be prepaired and he will have a damaged bicycle. I will make sure the bike is not in rideable condition when I am done with it. Ken Finch |

Closest intersection was Danforth Avenue and Woodbine Avenue at around 6:30pm.

Road bike or mountain bike style? No helmet? Drinking maybe? Street clothes, or made-for-cycling type clothing?

Road bike, no helmet, no alcohol involved that I could see, he was wearing blue jeans with a worn long sleaved grayish shirt.
