Hi Thomas
So, one of these? ![]() Not a very good pic, but looks quite a bit like this: ![]() I have seen folks advertising cash or trade in values for old ebikes as Kijiji/Craigslist ads... In Windsor and London at least... like this: http://www.ebikerider... Anyway... just sayin', your motor probably isn't unique to the 500C and there are probably folks around with used motors sitting on their shelves... Lock |

Thought you might get a chuckle over this...
Somebuddy up Keswick way is having a house contents auction tomorrow: http://theauctionadve... Including this: ![]() That 500C looks like it just has a straight up hub motor... I'll guess at this auction if no one's interested much in the bike it'll sell for a song... LocK Edited by lOCk on Nov 2, 2011 12:15 AM |

I walked by a bike today that looked very much like that 500C (rear simple hub motor)... Walked back for a closer look and it was labelled EMMO.
That Scooterteq of yours BTW... "Scooterteq" is just the old name for Veloteq. Looks like Veloteq have gone to that separate motor and gear box a la Motorino for their newer models. I guess when you mention a Dundas dealer you mean Valuride. Anyway, a lot of China mfgrs still offer the simple brushless and sensored hub in a cast 16" rim. I don't think Gary at Goldenmotor.ca has one in his current product offerings, but from Golden Motor China for example: http://www.alibaba.co... ![]() Again Thomas, just sayin', there's probably lots of older ebikes around w/the same motor as your 500C. EVen the newest Gio 500W+ motor may be a drop in replacement (click to enlarge): ![]() locK Edited by lOCk on Nov 4, 2011 12:02 AM |

So Jim...
ElectroCyclist here: http://shop.ecyck.com... I see they have Golden Motor product, although the only hubs they show are Magic Pies that lace into bicycle-style ebikes... On the Golden Motor site: http://www.goldenmoto... ...they do show a 48V 16" scooter-style hub: ![]() ...at $135 plus shipping, HST etc. So you're saying this motor would be a drop-in replacement for Thomas' old 500C? What are the chances the plugs are compatible? Seems like ElectroCyclist might have to special-order... GM Canada doesn't list the scooter-style hubs either as a stock item... http://www.goldenmoto... LocK |

I would like to see a few pictures of the rear end, from both sides, and of the rim, unless it's really dented you may be able to use it, but without seeing it I'm just guessing..
see if you can take some close up pictures of the rim, you may just need a new tube and tire ? jim |
