Work is just 9k away from home. I ride a Raptor e-scooter from Mobility Unlimited. It uses Lead Acid batteries.

Anywhere ya like biggrin

I plugged in to the Terminal for most of ten years...

Look around my friend... the place is LOUSY with outlets. The gardens. The trees. The walls. The sea walls. Behind the pop machines... The patio at the Second Cup. ...well, it's a long list. I was never plugging in for whole daze... Usually just for less than one hour, waiting for boats. If I had been plugging in for whole daze, day after day, perhaps the maintenance folk or property managers/security etc might have said something... dunno, but I was never challenged.

Plan B? Reconfig your pack setup so that you can remove same from the bike and take inside for recharging. No diff. than any laptop. Better for the batts anyway, in the cold temps outside of summer.

Remember... it is easier to get forgiveness than it is to get permission (wink)

Cheers

Thanks for the head's up. I am ok with the plugging in part since 9km is well within the range for back and forth travel. Removing the battery is an option though it is heavy! Quite a work out.

No doubt. Yer driving 12V SLAs... I'll guess four of them as 48V... don't know the Ahs... 17? 20? I am only familiar with 2x12V 10Ah or about 17lbs aka 240Wh.

I have a new pack coming to me that's 480Wh but only weights about 12lbs/5.3Kg. Lithium as LiFePO4. Not as affected by cold temps, and no Peukert factor to contend with...
tks

I found a good spot - just to the west of the Second cup are where all the motobikes and scooters park so I parked there as well. No problems so far.

No - I don't need to as I am not that far from home.

If you said that your going to work , that means that those batteries are going
to sit and sulffate for how many hours and your going to use it how many times
per weak? And your going 9km per trip one way?

My opinion is that within 4 months of that type of abuse on lead acid batteries
your battery bank will be spent .

If you plugin every time right after useing the bike you can get 2 to 3 years .
