Here is an example of a Legal E-Scooter being sold in Toronto. Notice the Speed and Motor in the specs = 45 KM/h and 1,200 Watts

Amazing speed for a "mobility scooter"... but not 45kmh:
Speed: throttle style Forward: 25-27 km/h Reverse: 8km/h

not entirely accurate because in Ontario you can "Legally" drive an 800W or a 1KW Electric Scooter. The E-Scooter just has to be registered as a Handicapped Scooter which as I said before Importers will list E-Scooters this way. Some people in this Group seem to object to the Handicapped label but the people selling you an E-Scooter see the Scooter as a Handicapped Vehicle.

I have imported about 30,000 Hub Motors from China ranging from 500W to 3,000W and everyone is destined for an E-Bike or an E-Scooter but every hub motor enters the country as a Handicapped Wheelchair Motor.

The Federal Government views an E-Scooter (2--3--or 4 wheels) as a Handicapped Persons Vehicle. Why argue with the Feds when it is to your advantage like this?

People here are writing stuff like I am perfectly fit or I jog and go to the gym or I ride because it is Fun. All that is fine but you are still Handicapped either physically or mentally aren't you?

To the Feds if it has 2 wheels, a seat, handlebars and pedals it is a Bicycle.
If that Bicycle NEEDS an Electric Motor for the USER to operate it, then the USER must be Handicapped because an ABLE Bodied rider does not NEED an E-Motor.

The Government are 2 dimensional Gits and everything is basic black & white.

To the Feds an Escalator in a Subway Station is for the Physically Handicapped because Able Bodied people can use the Stairs. It would never cross their mind that maybe the Escalator was there to move more people faster than congested stairs.

Joshua,

The members of the board have had enough of your constant insults. They come here for a peaceful chat and not to be bullied. At this point we don't care if you had a coffee or not today. This isn't the way to treat people. So we the leadership team are giving you an ultimatum either POST AN APOLOGY or you'll be REMOVED from the group.

will save you the trouble

But note in every Forum when you don't like what a Member posts you simply ignore that Member and do not open their Post or reply to them.

When you have a Group that boots people out because they don't like to read the opinions of others you have Censorship and if you prefer to live in a Society with Censorship then you need professional help/

Just so everyone knows this was not about censorship. Having an opinion is one thing. But to directly insulting (ie. calling people retarted) members of the group was a violation of the forum rule(s). Several warnings were given. Several members either posted or sent messages about their disapproval of certain posts.

Rules as posted on the bottom of the About page:

Official rule #1: No insulting anyone (including non-members and other groups) in the forum or anywhere else while representing this group, in any way, for any reason.

We gave Joshua a choice and he decided to remove himself from the group.
