So I've been shopping around for another ebike. I love mine, even though I've had to put more money into it than I wanted to, but i want to buy one for my wife. Only thing is, my credit is not that great. A friend of mine offered to help out by putting it under his name, and i would be responsible for the monthly payments. I tried calling a few places, including Eride inGuelph, as they now have financing, but it appears as if the person needs to be at the location to fill out paperwork and sign there, instead of being able to mail or fax in the application form. I can totally understand why they do things like that, and I don't hold it against E Ride Guelph at all, I love that place. The issue is, he lives in Belleville, and i live outside of Guelph. Are there any reputable stores that offer financing and solid ebikes/escooters? I checked out emmo.ca (I think that was the site) and when speaking to the rep, it seemed as if he really didn't know what he was doing or talking about.
Any help would be appreciated. |

Most folks own crap Patrick... List some of your crap on CL and get rid of it. Pawn your wedding ring and your wife will thank you when she sees her shiny new ebike... errr... maybe.

I would be a bit worried about getting into bed with a Finance Company just to buy an E-Scooter that will likely be land fill 2 years before the Financing is paid off. Any idea what you'd end up paying?
Daymak had one 4 year payment plan for an e-bike motor kit. It would have cost less to fly to China and come back with the motor kit and you'd have a vacation in the process. |

Emmo.ca claims they have a 5 year deal for about 52 bucks a month.. but after some research, yeah I'm guessing i'd be paying on a dead bike after a few years.
I like the bikes at eride Guelph, Motorinos.. they look like they are built really solid and all, but unfortunately the financing wouldn't work out with my friend. If you like the Daymak Ecostar...shopping channel sells them for $899. plus they throw in a matching motorcycle helmet, glasses, lock and raincoat.
If you use a credit card-you can divide the payments up into 6 months which pays it off quick and your friend doesnt need to come sign for anything-just fill in the numbers online or by telephone. The actual Daymak site sells the same e-bike for $949. without the extras. l know theres been some negativety about Daymak but honestly l have no complaints-they have cheerfully helped me out over the phone and answer my e-mails promptly...and its a lot of fun to ride. |

I too have an Ecostar from Daymak, and I have looked at the Motorino. I like my Ecostar but have had issues with it and they are ongoing, it may have been just my bike that has the problems.
The reason I really started looking around is the limited rangs of my Ecostar (30 km/charge). Real life range is one of the biggest 'beefs' amoung ebikers, so you need to factor this in when looking at getting a new/used ebike, a lesson I'm learning the hard way. Good luck. ![]() |
