Well, I'm back yet again with another technical issue.
I charged my ebike outside (I live in an apartment building) and forgot to remove the charger from the bike after I charged it. Well, it rained overnight.. Right on the charger. Tried drying it out a bit but when I plugged it in, it sparked and now the charging light doesn't even go on.

Any idea if this can be fixed if I let it dry out more? A new charger will cost me $150 at least, money I don't have just yet.

ANyone know of any cheaper ones?
It's a Smart Charger 48V/3A

A capable electronics tech could trace and replace the burnt component(s)...

Failing that, Darren at Econogics in Ottawa can sell you a 2A Soneil 48V charger for $82 plus shipping and HST, but I would save my pennies and buy the 6A at Cdn$199++ which would really rock:

Note, the last Soneil charger I bought direct from Soneil... scooted out to Mississauga for a visit which was fun... So Soneil may sell direct, but I don't know if any cheaper than Darren et al:

The last Soneil I burnt up was `cause water got in also... It was a tiny charger, only 24V and 2A so no need for cooling fan or vents but the water got in through the hole in the case for the LED idiot light...

Ouch! Careful with that one. I did the same thing & guess what fried battery. My brother could not believe lead could melt like that lol. I was always bring my pack in now at the slightest threat of rain.

Well luckily I didn't overcharge. I had unplugged the charger from the wall, meanwhile the charger was still plugged in to the bike and not covered because i didn't think it would rain overnight. I woke up at 4 this morning and saw rain and thought to myself.. lovely, the charger is dead for sure.

Apparently the Guelph ebike store has similar ones on sale for $113 so, not too bad. Going to go pick one up later today hopefully.
