Sorry to here about your "event" today Curtis. I have also read cyclists complaining that ebikes are "too slow" in the bike lane as well. So some say "too fast" and some say "too slow" but they are just trying to rationalize their dislike for ebikes. Perhaps if ya come up behind a "too slow" cyclist in the bike lane you can slow down and stay behind a bit until there's a break in the cars coming up behind? Normally I wait a bit then pass the cyclist when the lane is clear, but today I was impatient and didn't have my mirrors. I didn't think to realize how close a car could have been behind me. Cyclists have never edged over to let me pass, even if I gave them a friendly ring of my bell. The laws should be firm and clear to all users of the road as well. |

Got my mirror now, so much better!
As a side rant, I am so ticked that though I paid $2800 for my lithium-ion bike, lights and mirrors did not come standard. Then there are those cheapo escooters that come with everything, I am so jealous. Next stop is to a motorcycle place that will outfit me with a proper set of lights and not just some fiddly cat-eyes. I want front and rear and some turning signals even! Rant over, feel better now. |
