There are also the fines that carry over from bicycles and the HTA as they are vehicles under that legislation.

Item. Offense ... HTA Section ... Fine

1.Bicycle - Careless Driving ... 130 ... $400.00
2.Bicycle - Red Light – Fail to Stop ... 144 (18) ... $260.00
3.Bicycle - Disobey Stop Sign – Fail to Stop ... 136 (1) (a)* ... $85.00
4.Bicycle - Improper Lighting ... 62 (17)* ... $20.00
5.Bicycle - Improper Brakes ... 64 (3)* ... $85.00
6.Bicycle - No Bell or Defective Bell ... 75 (5) ... $85.00
7.Bicycle - Failure to Wear Proper Helmet ... 104 (2.1)* ... $60.00
8.Bicycle - Failure to Yield to Pedestrian ... 140 (1) (a) ... $150.00 ...
9.Bicycle - Drive Wrong Way – One Way Traffic ... 153 ... $85.00 ...
10.Bicycle - Fail to Turn Out to Right when Overtaken ... 148 (6)* ... $85.00
11.Cyclist - Ride in or along Crosswalk ... 144 (29)* ... $85.00
12.Cyclist – Fail to Stop to Identify Self ... 218 (2)* ... $85.00
13.Bicycle - Ride two (2) on a Bicycle ... 178 (2)* ... $85.00

* specific to the operation of bicycles and to bicyclists

Note that demerit points are not added to a driver's license for bicycle infractions, even though sometimes they are mistakenly added.

I am not sure whether the city can double ebike fines or not. I suspect however they might have the jurisdiction as they are allowed to pass laws governing pedestrians, ebikes and bicycles for highways under their jurisdiction. Doubling fines for ebikes makes not sense, and is just an escalation of the war on the ebike. For example fail to stop for a red light is the same fine for a motorist or a bicyclist, why would it be doubled for an ebike?

I see the City of Toronto has posted a summary "Ontario Highway Traffic Act - Bicycle Violations and Fines", here:
http://www.toronto.ca...

At the botton of the document they also schudule fines for City by-law infractions...
